Leveled Readers Print Page

Finding Leveled Readers

Physically sifting through the Leveled Reader Collection can be time consuming. Thankfully, there's a quick way to use the Library Catalog to search and find a Leveled Reader on the topic you're looking for.

Step One. Go to the Library's catalog here.


Step Two. Type your search term(s) into the search box(es).

Step 4. In the Collection Box - Click on "Curriculum Library - Leveled Readers." Whenever you choose a collection in this box it tells the Catalog to search for your terms in ONLY that collection. You can do this for other collections.

Step 5.  Click Submit!

Step 6.  Click on the title to see the full record for this series.

Step 7. Once you click on the title to view the full record look for the word you searched for, it will be in red. This will show you which book in this series meets your criteria. You can see below that within the Macmillan McGraw-Hill series we want books within 3.6 week 2.

Step 8:  Notice the call number for the item you want. In this example the call number is 372.4 Mac 3.6 Week 2.Take a walk over the the Leveled Readers. You will notice that most of the call numbers for the leveled readers begin with 372.4. As a result, they are mostly organized alphabetically according to publisher. Once you find the Macmillan leveled readers, look within the series to find the level of the title you are looking for (3.6) and the week (2).
